Kington is 20 miles north west of Hereford,
2 miles from the Welsh border. This border area is known
as the Marches. The Herefordshire countryside around Kington
is very rural with rolling hills and picturesque “Black
and White” villages. To the west, the Welsh County
of Powys is more dramatic with steep hills and large tracts
of ancient forest. There are numerous footpaths, bridleways
and byways to explore this remote area on foot or mountain
bike.
Though the area is sparsely populated there
are many events happening throughout the year from local
town festivals, village fetes, country shows, food, drink
and music festivals and much more.
